Introduction

The purpose of this hypermedia document is to illustrate and describe some of the surface features on the planet Venus by using images available from NASA agencies and information collected from various scientific publications and other sources. Our objective is to provide an interactive environment through which these features of Venus can be studied, queried and displayed for viewing. In this document, a crater atlas database and a corona atlas database can be examined and the results listed or geographically displayed on a map . The spatial distribution of user-selected features from the atlas can also be examined using hierarchical cluster analysis methods.
